Director of Huseyn Javid's House Museum Ertogrul Javid gave an interview on the occasion of his 101st birthday
Today, the son of the great poet and playwright Huseyn Javid, musicologist, artist and researcher Ertogrul Javid turns 101 years old.
Ertogrul Javid was born on October 22, 1919 in Baku. The happiness and tragedy of being the son of Huseyn Javid portrays the full picture of Ertogrul Javid's short but meaningful life.
Although one of the valuable figures of Azerbaijani culture, A.Javid lived only 24 years, he created a rich heritage as a musicologist, artist and researcher. After graduating from the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute, he continued his music education at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory in the class of genius composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli. Ertogrul Javid's personal belongings and archive are preserved in the House Museum of Huseyn Javid of ANAS. These unique materials give a broad impression of how versatile and talented he was.
This rich heritage has been studied by the Huseyn Javid House Museum. In recent years, the museum has published 13 volumes of "Intangible Cultural Monuments of Azerbaijan and Ertogrul Javid", "Balaban School" textbook and publications such as "Ertogrul Javid", "Folk songs transcribed by Ertogrul Javid" and "Incomplete works of Ertogrul Javid". Last year, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the composer, the museum prepared for publication "Musical works of Ertugrul Javid", "Collection of articles by Ertogrul Javid".
Director of ANAS Huseyn Javid's House Museum, Doctor of Philology Gulbaniz Babakhanli, who gave live interview on the “Seherchaghi” program on “Culture” TV, and spoke about the exhibits of Ertogrul Javid displayed in the museum's exposition, shed light on his short but meaningful life history and told about the work done in the museum to collect, prepare and publish the composer's works.
