Huseyn Javid's House Museum is re-publishing Topal Teymur
95 years have passed since the historical play "Topal Teymur" (1925) about the powerful Turkish commander and statesman Amir Teymur, which had penned by Huseyn Javid, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature. In this regard, an online scientific session of the museum staff was held under the chairmanship of the director of the House Museum of Huseyn Javid of ANAS, Doctor of philological sciences Gulbaniz Babakhanli.
Gulbaniz Babakhanli said that the main purpose of the scientific session was to discuss the re-publication of the work "Topal Teymur" and its translation into English.
Speaking about the factors that make Javid's works, including the drama "Topal Teymur" relevant today, she has highlighted the moments of the work that glorify the feelings of humanity, love, greatness and courage, and assessed it in the modern historical context.
Speaking later, the museum's scientific secretary Ilaha Novruzova said that a number of works in this direction have already been completed. The Azerbaijani version of the work has been compiled and paged in accordance with modern editorial requirements. The process of translating “Topal Teymur” into English for the first time has reached its final stage.
Other speakers at the event - Jamila Rzayeva, Lala Aliyeva and Ayten Jafarova - also reported on the work done in this direction.
